David Epstein M.D. was born in Delaware in 1957. After graduating from Mount Pleasant High School, he received his B.A. from Columbia University in New York, and his M.D. from Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Epstein completed his pediatric training at Mount Sinai Hospital, Manhattan. After 21 years of pediatric practice locally, Dr. Epstein founded Delaware Modern Pediatrics in 2007.
Dr. Epstein is a past president of the Delaware Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a past president of the Wilmington-New Castle Pediatric Association. For recreation, he enjoys road bicycling and barbershop quarteting; he has employed each of these activities for community fundraising. Dr. Epstein has one daughter, formerly a professional ballerina at First State Ballet, at The Grand Opera in Wilmington - now an RN in the Neonatal ICU at Nemours Hospital.
Maxime Roccario MSN, RN, CPNP joined us in April 2020. Maxime graduated from University of Delaware with a BS in nursing. She then received an Advanced Degree from the Primary Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program at University of Pennsylvania. She is certified by The National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.
Maxime worked for twenty plus years as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). She also has seven years experience with outpatient primary care with private pediatric practices in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Maxime has kept busy raising 6 children (4 boys and 2 girls), keeping up with her granddaughter and maintaining a physically active life through aerobic exercise and running.
