David Epstein M.D. was born in Delaware in 1957.  After graduating from Mount Pleasant High School, he received his B.A. from Columbia University in New York, and his M.D. from Washington University in St. Louis.  Dr. Epstein completed his pediatric training at Mount Sinai Hospital, Manhattan.  After 21 years of pediatric practice locally,  Dr. Epstein founded Delaware Modern Pediatrics in 2007.

Dr. Epstein is a past president of the Delaware Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a past president of the Wilmington-New Castle Pediatric Association.  For recreation, he enjoys road bicycling and barbershop quarteting; he has employed each of these activities for community fundraising.  Dr. Epstein has one daughter, a professional ballerina at First State Ballet, at The Grand Opera in Wilmington.

Taylor Johnson RN, CPNP

Taylor Johnson, MSN, RN, CPNP, joined us in November 2018. Taylor graduated from the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program at Vanderbilt University, and recently completed a year-long fellowship program at Nemours A. I. duPont Hospital for Children. She was born and raised in California, and has made her way to the east coast by way of Nashville, TN, and Dallas, Texas, before landing in Delaware in 2017. 

Taylor is also involved in community activities including volunteering as a nurse at Camp Kesem, a nonprofit organization that provides a free week of summer camp to children whose parents have or have had cancer. Taylor also enjoys staying active, and spends her spare time rock climbing!
