Flu is still around

Date: March 26, 2015

Flu activity remains elevated, though decreasing. Influenza viruses are still causing disease, and have been known to still circulate into May and June. To date, 107 pediatric deaths have been reported this season in the US.

The News-Journal reports (March 27, 2015):  "With 2,309 lab-confirmed cases and 28 flu-related deaths [in Delaware], it is the most severe season to date, exceeding the caseload during the swine flu epidemic in 2009 by more than 60 cases."

Last fall's flu vaccines did not provide complete coverage for the circulating flu viruses, but you were STILL better off with it than without it.  We have given all of our doses of last year's flu vaccine.

The flu vaccine we expect to have available in September is expected to give better coverage.
